About Us
Doug and Josh Averitt are a father-and-son team proudly running a family-owned mechanic shop built on honesty, hard work, and quality service. What started years ago in the family garage has grown into a trusted local shop serving the community with dependable automotive care.
Josh has always had a passion for cars. From a young age, he could often be found in the garage working side by side with his dad, Doug, learning the trade firsthand. He carried that passion into his education by taking every automotive mechanics class available at Northern High School in Durham, NC, where he completed all required certifications.
At just 18 years old, Josh was hired as a mechanic by Herc Heavy Duty Equipment. By age 21, his dedication and skill earned him a promotion to road mechanic. During his time there, Josh continued advancing his education at Durham Tech, completing courses in hydraulics and pneumatics and earning his welding certification.
With a strong foundation of experience, education, and a lifelong love for the trade, Josh made the decision to return home and join his father in running the family mechanic shop—bringing together generations of knowledge, skill, and pride in workmanship.
